Program Information: The Academy of Finance introduces high school students to the broad career opportunities of the financial services industry, opening the door to new options and equipping students to make sound choices for the future. One of three member programs of the National Academy Foundation, the Academy of Finance operates as a small learning community and is located in more than 275 high schools nationwide.
Participating Local Schools in Indiana include Center Grove, McKenzie Career Center, Northwest High School, Perry Meridian, Pike High School, Southport, Warren Central, and Hamilton Southeastern.

Purdue University
Purdue is the only university in the state that offers a full “Financial Planning” curriculum that prepares graduates to sit for the CFP ® exam.

For post college professionals who would like to explore a career in financial planning, the FPA of Greater Indiana is pleased to present the following helpful information.
CFP Certification There are almost 300 educational programs that can help you meet the educational requirements to sit for the Certified Financial Planner ® exam. The CFP ® website contains details on these programs http://www.cfp.net/become/Steps.asp.
Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards , Inc. owns the marks CFP®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM and federally registered CFP (with flame logo)® which it awards to individuals who successfully complete initial and ongoing certification requirements.

Local FPA Networking Events
- FPA of Greater Indiana quarterly meetings include a 45 minute networking break mid-meeting with a hot brunch. This is an excellent opportunity for transitioning professionals to network with seasoned financial planners or others who have recently transitioned into the profession. Please ask any BOD member to refer you to such an individual. In addition, several evening networking events are held annually.
