SUMMARY AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a member of an Operations team in our Client Service & Support organization you will be responsible for processing client accounts in order to build and maintain client loyalty. Specifically, you will:
- Complete Schwab’s service training and becoming knowledgeable of Schwab’s investment products and services.
- Answer internal and external inquiries, many of them very complex, regarding the functions of our investment products, including cost basis questions.
- Process new Schwab brokerage account applications and account update requests.
- Review client correspondence, update client accounts and perform detailed research and follow-up via the phone.
- Make outbound calls to clients and explain complex subjects such as IRS regulations, estate settlement rules, etc.
Depending on skills, prior experience and industry licenses, new hires may be offered positions at the Senior Administrator, Associate, or Specialist levels. Operations Senior Administrators and Associates are not licensed brokerage representatives, but may choose to self-study for industry licenses if desired and with management support. Operations Specialists are licensed professionals with their Series 7 and 63.
Our Operations teams are highly collaborative teams of 10-15 professionals in an inclusive environment, and are paid a salary (rather than the pressure of commissions), receiving additional compensation for overtime hours. In addition, Schwab’s bonus program rewards high performance and profitable company growth.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required minimum qualifications are:
- Ability and desire to work full-time from mid-August to mid-May with an unpaid seasonal furlough from mid-August through mid-May.
- Interest in a long-term career in financial services with potential to become licensed if desired and with management support.
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to multi-task to perform multiple complex tasks with a superior level of attention to detail.
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of investment products and industry regulations. Ability to explain these complex subjects via the phone.
- Intermediate to Advanced technical skills with the ability to utilize at least 5 different applications at any one time, including Windows, internet researching, database systems, and email.
- Ability to work in a structured environment during specified hours as pre-determined by business need.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and writing.
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
- Ability to work a flexible shift, which may include early morning hours, late night hours, or weekend hours.
- Collaborative and relational work style with proven success in a team environment.

As a Broker Trainee at Charles Schwab, you will be on the "fast-track" to becoming a licensed brokerage representative and will also be responsible for delivering outstanding service to our clients in order to build and maintain client loyalty. Specifically, you will:
- Receive paid training (under a Condition of Employment) to acquire the knowledge for, and obtain, Series 7 and 63 broker licenses.
- Utilize a passion for customer service, positive energy, and problem solving skills to connect with Schwab’s existing clients via the phone (this is not a face-to-face position).
- Demonstrate energy, empathy, and problem solving skills while delivering unparalleled value and outstanding service to our clients via the phone
- Respond to client inquiries including cost basis information, cashiering functions, letters of authorization, powers of attorney, product knowledge support and expanding client experience.
- Assess and resolve client questions, helping them to navigate Schwab’s investment products and services.
Once a licensed brokerage representative, you will also:
- Discuss financial products with clients, including stocks and options, bonds and fixed income products,, mutual funds, ETFs, CDs & money markets, margin loans, and annuities.
- Place trades, discuss the latest market trends, and provide investment information to clients to empower them to make well informed financial decisions.
- Uncover business development opportunities and respond to research requests.
Trainees work in small, highly collaborative teams of 10-15 professionals and are paid a salary (rather than the pressure of commissions), and receive additional compensation for overtime hours and shift differentials. In addition, Schwab’s bonus program rewards high performance and profitable company growth.
Trainees are compensated with an annualized salary of $34,000, with the ability to earn a bonus and the potential for overtime. This salary rate is designed with the assumption that new hires will earn their industry licenses and does not increase following successful completion of those exams. Employees have the opportunity to increase their base pay as they gain additional experience, training, and performance levels.

SUMMARY: The Support Paraplanner works as part of a team alongside the Financial Advisor and Client Services Administrator to provide clients with a professional, ongoing, exceptional service experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Gather Client Statements & Documents
- Client Advisor Process Communications (written & verbal)
- CRM Data Management
- Household account coordination
- Special Event Planning, coordinating & marketing support
- SunGuard Data Entry
- Client facing report preparation (SunGuard, Investment Planning, Account Inquiry, etc.)
- A Support Paraplanner will be asked to undertake various other tasks depending on what is actually required by the Partner for whom the Support Paraplanner works so this list should not be understood to be either exclusive or exhaustive.
